Board of Directors

Paul D. Asmus - Founder and President

Paul AsmusSince December of 1973, Paul Asmus has been in the aviation industry as President and Owner of South Seas Helicopter for 11 years, an aviation consultant for 16 years and an FAA certified A&P mechanic.  Paul was the founder of HHOA (Hawaii Helicopter Operators Association) and worked in concert with the County of Kauai, State of Hawaii, FAA and community groups on aircraft safety and noise issues.  "Flying Friendly" and the need for being sensitive to those on the ground are what first brought him to Washington D.C. some years ago as a member of HHOA.

After working on various aviation projects over the years and not having served in the U.S. military - Paul wanted to give back to his country and the people around the world by "Giving a Lift to Those in Need".

Paul elected both Roger Pascal and Mike Sacharski to participate as founding Board Members of Humanitarian Air Logistics to have a solid foundation that creates a successful organization with leaders that have a diverse background.

Roger Pascal - Secretary

Roger PascalRoger Pascal has practiced law for 43 years and concentrates his complex and multi-party litigation practice in intellectual property, antitrust and other commercial litigation, but he has tried cases in fields as disparate as airplane crashes, criminal law, and commodity futures trading.  He also represents entities and individuals in criminal and administrative matters, as well as civil trials and appeals.  He has tried and argued cases in numerous federal and state trial and appellate courts, including the U. S. Supreme Court.  [see, 429 U.S. 318.]

When he's not doing his day job as a trial lawyer, as a licensed private pilot, he is volunteering to fly patients to hospitals, participating in legal groups, working with the ACLU of Illinois and spending time with his family.

Friends and family describe Pascal as a tenacious lawyer who doesn't enter a courtroom unprepared and can be dogged in his litigation.  But at the same time he's a modest lawyer who firmly believes he has an obligation to serve others through his pro bono efforts.
